چکیده
Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni) is a promising medicinal and aromatic plant for Mediterranean agroecosystems given its positive agronomic attributes interesting quality features. It has both food pharmaceutical applications, since leaves contain sweet-tasting steviol glycosides (SVglys) bioactive compounds, such as phenolics, flavonoids, vitamins. We evaluated the qualitative performances of nine stevia genotypes cultivated, in open field conditions, two consecutive years under climate central Italy. Growth, biomass production, accumulation compounds (SVglys, polyphenols, their related antioxidant activities) were evaluated, considering effect harvest time crop age (first second year cultivation). The results showed high variability among terms morpho-productive phytochemical characteristics. In general, greater leaf dry yields, polyphenol accumulation, activities found cultivation, harvesting plants full vegetative growth. On other hand, total SVglys content reached highest values first when at beginning reproductive phase. although profile (Rubusoside, Dulcoside A, Stevioside, Rebaudioside C, D, E, M) remained stable over times, it differed significantly depending on genotype. Our findings provide useful information influence defining quanti-qualitative traits stevia, with PL, SL, BR5, SW30 being best performing thus suitable breeding programs. study highlighted that tested environment, represents semi-perennial which offers new solutions cropping system diversification marketing opportunities.

Estimated Water Requirements and Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni Crop Coefficient in Semi-Dry Climate under Lysimetric Conditions
Exactly estimating of water requirement is essential for water balance studies, design and management of irrigation systems and water resources management. Because of limited soil and water resources in Iran, for optimal use of water resources in the agricultural sector, it is necessary to determine the amount of water requirement by different plants in different climatological conditions. In o...
متن کاملIs Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni a Non Cariogenic Sweetener? A Review.
Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni is a small perennial shrub of the Asteraceae (Compositae) family that is native to South America, particularly Brazil and Paraguay, where it is known as "stevia" or "honey leaf" for its powerful sweetness. Several studies have suggested that in addition to their sweetness, steviosides and their related compounds, including rebaudioside A and isosteviol, may offer addit...

متن کاملStevia rebaudiana Bertoni - chemical composition and functional properties.
Sweetleaf (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni), currently investigated by many researchers, has been known and used for more than a thousand years indigenous tribes of South America, who called it "kaa-hee" ("sweet herb"). Thanks to its chemical composition and processability sweetleaf may be an alternative for synthetic sweeteners. Nutritional and health-promoting aspects of Stevia rebaudiana are prese...
